@iGotNintendoAtLaunch I think since PS5's are still tough to find in a lot of places it's only natural they extend the life of the PS4. Would you have the same opinion if you weren't lucky enough to pick up a pS5?

I'll wait for Valkyrie Profile to go on sale. $20 is a fair price, but I'm cheap when it comes to digital games. I'd bite at $15.

It’s always been weird to me the indies and smaller studio games don’t release around this time. People have money and gift cards burning a hole in their pocket, go get it.

I started the callisto protocol once the kids passed out on Christmas day. Gotta say, its one hell of a good looking game. Enjoying it so far.

@straw-hat-crew The regular edition. I think the only difference for Deluxe is that it includes a "Story Expansion", which is DLC that won't be available at launch anyway. So I'll just buy that later if the DLC looks interesting.

Not really into preordering, these days. Too many "this game is going to be awesome" and then a mediocre review after launch. Waiting to read a few reviews on One Piece, but definitely have my fingers crossed.

@RudeAnimat0r limit the amount you spend on others. Some people go crazy at Christmas and it's never needed. I have three kids and they're limited to £200 each which leaves me with enough to treat myself. We all deserve a little something for ourselves 😊

@blockfight they didn't though. For most people making the effort is asking in a store or check websites occasionally. Actually making an effect is signing up to stock lists, stock alert apps and following twitter stock pages. If people did that they'd have one almost instantly

Is it safe to assume persona 4 cloud saves from Vita won't work on the PS4 version? I'll probably do switch or just game pass if my old save from 3/4 through won't carry over.

PS5 is lacking some really big games. It's over two years old, they should have a lot more exclusives by now. Even PSPlus is weak for PS5 owners.

I would be excited, if it arrived in time for early access, but our mail service is the absolute worst so it will most likely arrive on the 10th, if not the Monday after that. I only bought physical to save over the digital release, but now I'm starting to doubt if that was the best idea.

@dark_knightmare2 I didn't say they didn't do well, I'm saying the games for PSPlus suck and XBox is a better buy. More powerful console, better perks with Gamepass especially since its cheap and you can get PC and Xbox games. I remember the adverts for PlayStation always saying "for the players" and yet it really isn't. Even the exclusives are moving over to PC.

Ps plus extra is a great deal just like gamepass and when it comes to exclusives it’s no contest which is why Sony is breaking its own records left and right and only two years into the gen ms already posted negative hardware sells between quarters which is not remotely good and almost never happens

So excited to play Hogwarts Legacy tomorrow. One of the only few games this month that interested me.

I'm thinking about getting into Harry Potter. Not because it seems interesting, but because it's an easy way to upset virtue signaling white knights.

@Gamer_Guy I like how they felt the need to add a trans character to the game. It added nothing and it's not at all relatable to real life. The person uses actual magic to completely transform into something else. The way it comes up isn't even organic. You ask them how they know someone and they just blurt out how the person could tell they weren't a chick or a dude or whatever. It's so awkwardly crammed in and pointless.

Already playing Hogwarts and its everything i wanted it to be and more.

Who cares if the game has a Trans character and believe it or not even in the 1800's Trans people existed.

I pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy (Standard) from Best Buy, will be picking it up on Friday but won't have time to play it until Sunday or Monday sadly.

@WallyWest They threw in the token character to appease trans people but it's not relatable because it's not like the person went through any struggles or had to convince others that they're actually what they feel like they should be. They just use some bibbidy boddidy boo ***** and they're transformed into a different gender, complete with different bone and muscle structure and presumably properly functioning genitalia and reproductive equipment. I'm sure people would use magic if they could, but this is real life and representing trans people solving their problems with magic is like having a black character that uses magic to provide quality education and employment opportunities for his dilapidated, crime ridden, drug dealing, ghetto neighborhood.

They added a token character from a marginalized group who uses magic to solve their dilemma in a way that no one who actually struggles with these issues could in real life. Had my copy of Wild Hearts come today, played about 4 hours so far and I'm enjoying it. The main monsters are more epic in appearance than monster hunter but seem to go down a hell of a lot easier, which for me is preferred. Also surprised on how many other people are aying it, joining hunts takes about 5 seconds a every time.

@R_Ryder Sure, primary and most obviously overt example is her support of protest against Scotland's at-the-time new inclusion law that would allow people who can provide evidence of living as their preferred gender for 3 months. Inherent to the bill was a path to legal gender reassignment without prior surgery or hormones - which JKR stated would (paraphrasing for brevity) "provide protections of those who've had full sex reassignment surgery to intact males." Largely disregarding the bizarre use of the term "intact male," - a veterinary term for a non-neutered animal - it's clear that JKR thinks that trans-women who've not yet gone through surgery do not deserve the legal protections normally afforded to women even if they've been presenting and living as one. She also thinks that "male-oriented bodies" will use the bill to assert themselves further into women-only spaces. People who would force themselves into spaces like that are not going to wait on some government "thumbs up" to do so.

Essentially, she believes that trans women aren't women. She fairly up-front about her belief that they are fundamentally not women as well, and that they shouldn't have access to the same spaces other women are in. If, however, trans women are women, as is the position of many, then she's just galvanizing more people to suppress a subset of women. There are nuances to be discussed about the inclusion of trans women in certain, very specific spaces, but a blanket exclusion is indicative of a relatively poor understanding of biology.

I'll let you have the last word here if you want it, but I'm just now thinking that this is probably not the kind of interaction wanted on a weekly article such as this. I didn't want to leave you unanswered, however, and won't/wouldn't have minded continuing the conversation in a more personal format such as messages.

Still, I guess we will see whether your essay is allowed to stay up due to it aligning with Pushsquare’s beliefs, or whether they are evenhanded in their rule making.

What an amazing month. So many games, so little time. Although I do have 5 days straight off work so I can immerse myself in next gen gaming. Can’t wait.

Yes, I had to cancelled holidays days booked for September because of unexpectedly needing time off last week, but definitely worth it.

@Cloud7794 I think you'll find that most people, if being honest, find it difficult to see how choosing to live as one sex or another for 3 months would qualify you as being a member of that sex.

Leaving the physical aspects aside, the very notion that you can truly 'feel' or understand what it it is to 'be' a member of the opposite sex is quite surreal. You've not been through the life experiences that give you that understanding. Especially as a Woman, who it seems now are effectively being re-classified as 'Womb Bearers'.

Unfortunately there seems to be very little appetite for reasoned debate and I suspect this will all end very, very badly.

This is clearly not the place for that debate, anyway, so lets just keep both points of view out of it.

So, I’ve decided on Kayak Mirage first for the graphical wow factor and acclimation, then Horizon to test out the features more, then Resi 8 to get scared and wander round that amazing mansion, then Pistol Whip to get rid of the scare and really test out the tracking more, then S&S1. See how much of that I can get through by the time Switchback drops.

May also get Rez and Tetris Effect upgrades. But likely will be too busy.

Oh, and this is ignoring NMS, which could be life consuming but has been delayed a few weeks I think.

Special mention to Ishin. Favourite series ever, but will have to wait 6 months at least.

It's all PSVR2 all the time this week/month for me. Horizon bundle on the way, I'm starting with that since it's kind of the official tech demo. Then into maybe Moss to compare to vr1. Then maybe some gt7 for the realism.

From there.... Maybe VR townsmen for something really different. Demeo for the real unique use of vr. Kayak for the pixel peeping.... I'm hoping dyschronia is really released at launch because being in a detective visual novel is sooo my speed. And that's before I get to NMS and forget who I am and what reality is.

..... And I still want a darned rhythm game. Maybe upgrade thumper, or maybe get drums rock (still unsure if air drumming without kickback sucks or not) kizuna ai with the jpop sounds great through but it's still not even listed in the store. I wonder if that's Japan only at least for now.

All on top of that I'm binging Yakuza series on xb, and really want to get into hfw after cotm as I just platinumed hzd before cotm lands, and the timing is good since burning shores is a few months away. So much games, so little time!

Birthday on the 22nd so naturally ive booked the 22nd, 23rd and 24th off work. Hopefully my VR gets here on the 22nd. Kayak and moss pre ordered and the more i see of Star wars the more i like it but the big one for me is defenatey GT7. Really cant wait to race Spa in VR. Have a good week folks.

I started playing Scars Above last night and it’s a decent enough game as far as I can tell. It’s DEFINITELY a budget title and there’s a certain level of jank to it, but I’m having fun with it so far after only putting a few hours into it.
